Brazilian seer Athos Salomé has made a chilling forecast for President Donald Trump’s political future in 2026 - and it's far from reassuring.
Salomé, a 38-year-old self-styled mystic and influencer, has built a reputation for weighing in on global figures and events.
He’s already raised eyebrows with warnings to the British Royal Family about a looming “major event” potentially tied to the health of a key member. His visions have also spanned the worlds of artificial intelligence, Gen Z trends, and even the future of weight loss drugs.
Now, he’s turning his sights on the White House.
Trump faces midterm shakeup and rising Democratic energy
According to Salomé, Trump’s grip on political power could loosen significantly by 2026.
He predicts that a drop in popularity, fueled by energized Democratic voters and historical midterm patterns, could threaten the Republican Party's hold on Congress.
"The mix puts the administration on their toes - and lights warnings across the Trump presidency," he said, speaking to Tyla.
Salomé believes there's a “high likelihood that the Republican Party will lose at least one chamber in November 2026,” adding that the outcome will be driven by several factors: “falling presidential approval, a more energised Democratic base, a historical phenomenon of punishing governing parties through a midterm lens” and “legislative margins already skinny.”
He warns that this volatile mix could put the current administration in a tough spot politically.
Executive orders could become Trump’s main tool
While the legislative branch may turn hostile, Salomé believes Trump will double down on unilateral power.
“With Congress withered, the administration may depend more on unilateral tools: executive orders, administrative regulations and pacts with allied governors,” he predicted.
The year ahead, Salomé claims, will be marked by “governance by pen,” where Trump “resorts to administrative acts to make up for a diminishing parliamentary membership.”
He says this strategy will become “the agenda that will shape the electoral discourse.”
As for the pillars of Trump’s 2026 agenda, Salomé sees a continuation of his most familiar battle lines. “Border security, trade warfare and open confrontation with what Trump calls ‘judicial activism’ and ‘federal bureaucracy’,” he explained.
“That is a familiar formula that is exacerbated by an environment of legislative uncertainty.”
Republican tension, Melania’s quiet presence, and the real threat to Trump
The mystic also claims internal friction within the Republican Party isn’t going anywhere. Trump may still appear dominant, but things behind the scenes are reportedly uneasy.
“Yet, behind the curtain, unease is mounting as polling indicates severe midterm risks. This is 'strategy, not rupture' pressure. The party also needs Trump to galvanise the base - but is afraid of absorbing the electoral cost.”
On the personal front, Salomé also offered a glimpse into what he sees for First Lady Melania Trump. He predicts she’ll remain reserved, making limited appearances at travel events and fundraisers.
“This is not a case of marital crisis, institutional distancing or a overhaul of the First Lady’s role. On the contrary: her movements imply calculated stability,” he said.
“The destruction of the East Wing doesn’t erode her personal importance, but repositions her institutional function. Melania becomes the 'official curator' of presidential moments, rather than the head of a political office.”
When asked where the real threat lies for Trump in 2026, Salomé didn’t point to criminal cases or private affairs. Instead, he sees danger in political tides turning.
"The actual subject of tension is at a political level. The true threat is a less welcoming Congress in the wake of the midterms.
"If the current trends continue, the president will start the second six months of his presidency swimming through less clear waters - burdened by civil penalties and legislative pushback and relying much more on unilateral executive power."
